When God Closes a Door, Somewhere He Opens a Window

I guess He does. Except sometimes it is hard to see beyond the closed door. And we go banging our heads on it. And end up getting hurt with a bump on the head. And still being stuck behind the closed door.

But if we just look around we may see the light coming through the window. And while it may not be the way we wanted to go, it still might be more refreshing than being stuck in a dark room.

Since I've been staring at the closed door for way too long decided to have a peek through my window and here's what I see:

Meeting my parents after all these years and sapping up all the attention and love.

Graduating....officially.

Getting my paper published before all the other competition got theirs out.

Discovering my thesis is being sold on amazon.com which has dubiously given me the distinction of being an author.

Being able to take time off every weekend to go on holidays, from the mountains to the beach.

Being able to spend a lot of time with my nephew and niece who are absolutely adorable and becoming their favorite aunt.

Being able to see beyond the closed door....and seeing the window that is bringing light into my life.

Very nicely put. Always helps to look out of the window.

Btw, after reading this, looked up on Amazon.com and found my thesis on sale too ! Doesn't seem to be any buyer's though ;-)

Also, you are an author as soon as you publish papers !

@ ratna thanks and here's to seeing the light through the window.
@ bongop'o'ndit thanks for stopping by my blog. And congrats to you too :) Isn't it weird about the amazon thing because I looked up several other friends and they weren't in. Told my advisor about it and he even tried to write up a review (Great read. well paced etc)but they wouldn't let him :))

I thought you said god opens "a" window...but you've mentioned seven!! God must like you :-)

But, seriously...I'm not sure about this window business. Somtimes you find that you've been given a room without a view. No windows at all.

I was banging on that door for so long that I forgot that I had a life to live...

Hope you do not attempt to go thru the window. But just watch the view. It would hurt you if the room is on higher floors

But the door being closed nags a little bit still?
For all the brightness, it is just the lining. The whole thing is the dark cloud!!

everything that happens, happens for the best. This is what I grew up believing and while I have my bad days, the sun does shine through the rain

Congrats on the graduation and the paper, way to go

@ fosix as a matter of fact there is ahardcover as well as a paperback.....just in case you were interested :))
@ prerona that is exactly my problem. I have to get that door open. No matter what. And yes looking out the window is nice and comforting, but I can't give up trying to get that damn door open!
@ ubergeek thanks and I hope so too.
@ ghostoftomjoad well I mentioned seven things I can see through the one window. And yes, sometimes it does feel like you are stuck in a room without a view. And just then, something may change and you get to see what you've been missing all along.
@ cacophoenix we all do that. Unfortunately. Hope the door opens for you too.
@ kausum I am a stubborn person and don't give up. I would wait as long as it takes but I'll get out that door. No jumping out the window and taking the easy route out.
@ jinguchakka not a little bit....a great deal. It nags and nags and nags till sometimes I think I'll go crazy.
@ rohan but wouldn't that be taking the easier way out? I'd still wait for the door to open. It has to. Someday.
@ grafxgurl thank you and hope things work out for the best for you.
@generally_speaking He truly does...and thanks for stopping by.
@ t.b.g. good to see you back. Hope everything's working out the way you wanted it to.
@ pearl thanks. And yes, I try. Can't let the only source of light to go out now.

Well its a tough one isnt it? Window might be an easy way out...and hence may not ultimately be satisfying (if one keeps brooding about the door...)

How are you doing BTW? Tick-et and all :)
