Pulled over

Got a speeding ticket on the interstate yesterday. This one's a first. Making a sad face and pleading eyes did not cut a deal with the Sheriff. Damn!

The sherriff was doing this himself? Maybe he needed more than just a sad face and pleading eyes...should've thrown in a sob story as well...maybe about the tick. No? :-)

How's the tick problem now? All well, I hope.

A sad face and pleading eyes have only worked for "puss in boots"... :P

I hope the fine wasn't too bad...

lol.
I am reminded of Ross and Rachel in one episode of "Friends" where Rachel would escape a speeding ticket by flirting with the officer, while Ross would try the same some time later but unsuccessfully and would get a 'slowing' ticket.

BTW, what speed were you travelling and what was the limit?

And threat of Lyme finally receded?

@ rohan this is one first that I could have lived without!
@ r.i.m. aamar obostha dekhe hasha ta thik hochhe? 78 in a 65 miles/hr zone. Not the worst. Fine was 100 dollars. The only good thing was the guy gave me the option of 8hrs traffic school to get the ticket dismissed and charges waived off. Now have to deal with that.
@ grafxgurl when are you finally coming to the US?
@ kausum well I wasn't going at 110! And don't know anything about points. The officer didn't say anything to that effect. I have a number that I have to call and figure.
@ fosix it does indeed :)) Isn't it a pity that charm doesn't get you far these days? :(
@ ghostoftomjoad I guess the memorial Day weekend is a fav hit with the cops. Didn't realize that until I saw a gazillion cops pulling people over for speeding. me being the first victim. Someone said that tears help too. Just didn't get to perform at the right moment.
The tick problem is on the back burner until something happens to make it an issue. Thanks for asking :)
@ seashells if I do traffic school I think it will be $65.
@ jinguchakka shit...never thought of doing that! 78 in 65 zone.
The Lyme threat hasn't surfaced yet.
@ nomita you should definitely write more often.
@ priya just trying to get back home from a trip over the long weekend. Wanted to make a 12 hr drive under 8 hrs. Got the ticket first thing in the morning and having to drive under the speed limit which resulted in us reaching home at 10 in the night!Jachhetai!

I got my first ticket in my drive way :) I was driving 35 in 25 and took a sharp turn into my drive way, where a cop was hiding under a tree :(

i got my first speeding ticket two months back. i was on my way to watch basic instinct 2 - i also lost my cell phone while watching the movie. what a terrible waste of time and money for a lousy movie, and not to forget increase in insurance rates :((

@ erebus speed, but carefully. It's not worth dying. Really!
@ sagnik So you did the pre-payment? I'd go do the traffic school to keep the thing off my records.
